WHAT ABOUT PHILIA?

In a world where eros is so idealized, and socials are flooded with "God when", "love is sweet" and all sorts, I wonder, whatever happened to philia?
Philia- the greek word that describes the love between friends.
The Greek philosopher Plato thought that philia was an even greater love than eros and that the strongest loving relationships were ones where philia led to eros.
So how did we get to the point where philia could barely be valued in the dark shadow of the apotheosized eros? These days no one seems to appreciate the absolute bliss that is having a true friend, a brother if you will.

My friends, thank you to my friends! These people have taught me what it means for someone to say "I'm here for you", then prove it, they've taught me different features of love- it's selflessness, it's accomodation, it's forgiveness and so on.
The way the princess in the fairy tales tries to pinch herself to make sure she's not dreaming when she finds her prince charming, sometimes I find myself questioning how such wholesome love can exist in the relationship I share with my friends, cause even in my lowest of lows, they've pitched tents in my corner and said "we'll weather this storm together".
So to philia, cheers to philia. To the friends here now and those that faded with time, thank you, for the laughs and the tears, the calls and the texts, thank you.
