Have you heard of the cursed river in kogi state Nigeria??

This river is one of the most mysterious places in Africa. It's said that if you capture a fish from this river and try to cook it for consumption, the fish will always remain raw regardless of how much heat you apply. Some even believe that if you are injured from the Bones of the fish the injury will never heal. This river is called THE INACHALO RIVER

In the ancient times king IDOKO who ruled the igala kingdom, during the cessant inter tribal wars between the jukun and the igala people made an order for the INACHALO RIVER to be poisoned as a war tool to weaken the jukuns, because the jukun warriors depend daily on the river for food and water whenever they came for attack on the igala kingdom. As a result of the poisoning many jukuns soldiers became weak and eventually died of starvation and food poisoning.

The myth that the supernatural fishes, went as far as stating it's as a result of the jukuns who used the INACHALO RIVER ,to escape by transforming into fishes and swim away.

To this very day people in the area do not catch or eat the fish. And this has been a part of the ritual to end the war and bring peace to the igala land, PRINCESS OMA IDOKO was buried alive along with 9 other females. The igala kingdom won the war.!
